Mindy McCready,37, passed away today from what officials believe to be a “self-inflicted gunshot wound.” McCready’s brother confirmed the news of her death to the New York Daily News this evening and Cleburne County officials later followed with an official statement. Her death follows the death of her boyfriend David Wilson, who passed away last month. The cause of Wilson’s death is still under investigation.
The troubled singer has been unable to cope since Wilson’s death. McCready’s father recently put her into rehab for mental health and substance abuse evaluations, but she was released to an at-home treatment program shortly thereafter.
